If you’re a SLIME holder, you can jump in right now and start playing with it. This is our first big step toward bringing customizable, interactive NFT overlays to the Hedera ecosystem, and we’re excited to share it with you!

What’s Overlayz All About?

For those just joining the party, Overlayz is a dApp that lets you create and apply dynamic overlays to your NFTs, giving them a fresh, personalized vibe. Think of it as a digital sticker book for your NFTs.

The MVP focuses on core functionality: applying overlays to your SLIME NFTs in a slick, user-friendly interface. We’re building this on Hedera’s Token Service (HTS) and Smart Contract Service, leveraging the network’s speed, low fees, and eco-friendly vibes to make it all happen.

The tech stack? We’re keeping it lean with Hedera as our network, Vanilla JS for the logic, and CSS for a clean, responsive design.

Right now, the MVP is exclusive to SLIME holders – it’s our way of saying thanks to the community that’s been with us from the start. You can connect your wallet, select your NFT, and start slapping on overlays. It’s simple, fun, and it’s just the beginning.

Where We’re At (and What’s Next)

The MVP is live, but we’re still tinkering under the hood. The movement and rotation functions for overlays are in progress – think smoother dragging, rotatins, and resizing your overlays to get that perfect look. Once we polish the movement features and work through your feedback, our next steps will be:

• HashPack Submission: We’ll submit the dApp to HashPack, making it accessible to everyone on Hedera—for free!
• FOSS on Git: Overlayz will be fully open-source, with the code dropped on Git for anyone to fork, tweak, or build on. We’re all about community and collaboration.

Today, we’re excited to announce SLIME NFTs – not as a competitor, but as a new chapter in Hedera’s evolving NFT story. Our vision is to complement the existing ecosystem by introducing a blue chip collection with an accessible entry point, making the world of premium NFTs more attainable for everyone.

The Team Behind SLIME

As the creator of SLIME NFTs and founder of Heyproxy, a development and futures company, I (HeftySammich) bring over a decade of web development experience to this project. Every aspect of SLIME NFTs – from the smart contracts to each individual layer of artwork – has been crafted by my hand. This personal involvement ensures consistency in quality and vision across all aspects of the project.

Since 2019, Heyproxy has built a strong reputation working with small and medium businesses, delivering custom technology solutions that drive growth and innovation. In 2025, we made a pivotal decision to redirect our expertise toward something bigger: developing powerful, free, and open-source software (FOSS) that can benefit the entire blockchain community and beyond.

This transition presented a unique challenge: how to fund the development of high-quality FOSS while keeping it free for end users. The SLIME NFT collection is our innovative answer to this challenge. By creating a blue chip NFT collection with real utility and governance rights, we can generate the funding needed to develop and deploy powerful FOSS technology without compromising our commitment to keeping it free and accessible to everyone.
